We provide certification for GWO (Global Wind Organisation), including all HSE modules – both basic and advanced, as well as GWO Blade repair and GWO Basic Technical Training. We have also developed and provide a comprehensive program for education of wind technician for on- and offshore wind. The vocational education of energy operators for wind and hydropower at Dalane Vocational College is located together with us, and in 2022 the Polytechnical College of Rogaland County established activity in the center, developing higher vocational education in collaboration with Energy Innovation.
In addition to training, the installed infrastructure is used to develop future-oriented services for operation & maintenance of wind turbines and components, as well as research and development through national and International collaboration. Due to the early establishment of leading wind power companies, the port town of Egersund is transforming into an epicenter for developing competences both for on- and offshore wind.
Egersund has a diversification strategy to tap into both the onshore and offshore wind sectors in a timely manner. To enable the full employment potential offered by the town’s strategy, a qualification campaign is being launched to ensure the development of urgently needed wind energy skills.
The hub concept is a response to current and future challenges in the wind industry’s qualification sector. The initiators expect extensive synergies for the location arising from a collaborative bundling of resources that meets the growing complexity of the qualification task. In addition to the already developed range of modules, the hub will also offer space for developing new educational innovations. To this end, the initiators are also making the installed infrastructure available to other market participants and research facilities as a development platform.
