Inter Marine Training achieves GWO High Voltage certification

A milestone for Poland’s wind training sector!

With support from Energy Innovation Norway and COO Steven Kjørmo, Inter Marine Training in Gdynia has reached a historic achievement: Becoming the first training center in Poland – and among the very first in Europe – to be certified for delivering Global Wind Organisation (GWO) High Voltage (HV) both modules; Cable Pulling and Operations training.

Raising the standard for wind training in Europe

The certification, issued by Bureau Veritas Denmark on 20 October 2025, confirms Inter Marine Training’s compliance with GWO’s highest standards across fixed and mobile training facilities, as well as on-site learning environments.

The audit process, conducted in collaboration with Energy Innovation’s technical team, validates not only Inter Marine’s operational excellence – in close collaboration with Gdynia Maritime University, but also the robustness of Energy Innovation’s multisite franchise model, which ensures consistent quality across its global network of training centers.

“This marks a significant step forward for both Inter Marine and the Polish training industry,” says Steven Kjørmo, COO at Energy Innovation. “It demonstrates how international collaboration and shared standards can accelerate competence building and safety in the offshore wind sector.”

Expanded training portfolio

As a result of this certification, Inter Marine Training now offers seven additional GWO modules, including refreshers:

  • Slinger & Signaller (SLS)

  • Crane and Hoist Basic User (CHBU)

  • Control of Hazardous Energies (COHE) – Basic Safety, Electrical Safety, Pressure Fluid Safety

  • High Voltage (HV) – Cable Pulling and Operations

These come in addition to the center’s wide range of existing Basic Safety (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) modules.

Part of a growing international network

Inter Marine Training operates under Energy Innovation’s multisite certification, which also includes training centers in Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United States.

Through this model, Energy Innovation ensures unified standards for course delivery, documentation, and audit compliance — contributing to safer, smarter, faster and more sustainable growth in the offshore wind industry.
