We are happy to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive audit, resulting in the expansion of our Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certifications. This achievement strengthens our commitment to delivering high-quality, up-to-date training for professionals in the wind energy sector.

New GWO Courses Now Available

As part of our newly approved offerings, we now deliver the full GWO Control of Hazardous Energies (CoHE) training standard. These courses are designed to improve participants’ ability to work safely with mechanical, electrical, and pressure-related energy sources in the wind industry.

This includes all three modules:

  • 🔗 CoHE Basic Safety
Equips participants with the knowledge to act safely in environments where hazardous energies are present.
  • 🔗 CoHE Electrical Safety
Focuses on isolation, safe handling, and testing when working with low voltage electrical systems.
  • 🔗 CoHE Pressure Fluid Safety
Covers best practices when working with hydraulic and pressurised systems, including safe isolation procedures.
  • 🔗 GWO CoHE Combined (Standard)
This complete course package includes all three modules in one streamlined experience. It is the official GWO standard for technicians working with or near electrical and hydraulic systems in wind turbines. Whether onshore or offshore, this course supports safe and compliant maintenance practices.

Christian Munck Jørgensen, GWO Project Manager, explained:

“This one of the most complex and ambitious training standards that our members have requested. For the COHE standard, we have worked hard to ensure the training will be applicable across borders while delivering the benefits of a generic, standardised training that employers will need for technicians.”

🟢 As of May 2025, Energy Innovation is the only training provider in Norway officially offering the full CoHE certification.

In addition to the CoHE modules, we have also expanded our GWO portfolio with a course that addresses another essential aspect of wind turbine safety: the safe use of service lifts inside a WTG (Wind Turbine Generator).

🔗 GWO Service Lift User

This training module enables participants to operate service lifts in wind turbines safely and correctly. It covers different guiding systems and lift types, pre-use inspection procedures, and emergency response actions.

👉 These courses are already open for booking through our course calendar, and available at our certified training center in Egersund.

The Most Comprehensive GWO Portfolio in Norway

With the latest additions, our GWO training offer now includes:

  • 17 different GWO standards

  • 35 individual modules

This positions Energy Innovation as the most comprehensive GWO-certified training provider in Norway – supporting both local and global workforce development. Additional – we deliver a number of other courses, including rope access and wind tech education programs through up-skilling and re-skilling.

💡 Commitment to Quality and People

While certifications, modules, and audits are critical, our real strength lies in the people behind them. It’s the dedication, expertise, and problem-solving mindset of our team that makes this possible.

We deliver not just courses – but confidence, safety, and capability in the field through R&D and international collaboration with partners in several countries through our multisite certification.
